Anfield is always a daunting venue for oppositions, but Chelsea could cause an upset in their big clash with Liverpool this weekend.

4 – Liverpool v Chelsea

Mason Mount scored just before half-time to get Chelsea a 1-0 victory at Anfield last season. Sadio Mane’s double gave Liverpool a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool have beaten Norwich (3-0) and Burnley (2-0) in their opening two Premier League fixtures. Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have all found the back of the net.

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-0 in their opening Premier League game and Romelu Lukaku scored on his Blues return in their 2-0 victory at Arsenal last weekend

3-Burnley V Leeds

Two games and two defeats see Burnley already on the backfoot in this season’s Premier League, although Sean Dyche’s side did overcome Newcastle on penalties this past Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup, but things don’t get any easier for them here against an opponent who took six points from them in 2020-21.

Midfielder Ashley Westwood may miss out here due to a toe injury, as could forward Matej Vydra as a result of a tight groin, whilst both Dale Stephens and Kevin Long are definitely unavailable for selection.

Leeds Utd recorded their first point in this season’s Premier League, coming from behind twice to earn a point against Everton and backed that up in midweek, advancing to the third round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 victory over League One side Crewe, a helpful morale booster heading into this one.

Central defender Robin Koch is the only injury doubt for Leeds heading into this one and Marcelo Bielsa is likely to name the same side who started in their 2-2 draw with Everton last weekend, although versatile attacker Rodrigo could lay a claim for selection when considering that he scored twice in this fixture last season.

5-Newcastle v Westham

NEWCASTLE

  • The appointment of Graeme Jones to the c coaching staff appears to be the catalyst and main reason for Newcastle staying up last season. Callum Wilson outlined that Jones offered a lot more tactically to the Magpies than Steve Bruce. Staying up is once again likely to be the main aim for Newcastle this season.
  • A lack of activity will be cause for concern and frustration on Tyneside (just copy and paste that every summer, to be honest). Joe Willock looks like he should be a Newcastle player before this match after his excellent form last year but it remains to be seen as to whether he will be available for this match.

WEST HAM

  • Without losing too many players, West Ham’s squad is already beginning to look a little bit thin. David Moyes performed very well in his job to get an already thin midfield in the top six last season but the loss of Jesse Lingard kin the attacking roles as well as the potential departures of Jarrod Bowen and Andriy Yarmolenko will leave the Hammers short – especially as they balance the league alongside Europa League football this season.
  • A lack of depth is unlikely to be too much of an issue just yet but they will be fearful in a month or two if reinforcements aren’t brought in (just copy and paste that as well, every summer).
  • There is a chance that West Ham could complete the signing of Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina whilst Newcastle might have Joe Willock wrapped up prior to the match as well. If that is the case then Willock would be likely to go straight into the Newcastle side whilst Milenkovic probably wouldn’t. These two have played out some entertaining matches in the last couple of seasons and met on the opening day last year with Newcastle going to the London Stadium and winning by two goals to nil. Both teams to score with a full crowd and an impetus on the home team, as well as West Ham’s attacking brilliance on the counter, seems the solid bet for this one.

Did you know that since week 49 2021, the first team at home that the first letter corresponds with the Saturday date of play has not failed?

For example, in week 06 2021, the Saturday date is the 14th of August, 14 converted to Alphabet is N, the first letter N at home, is Newcastle.

16-Nottingham Forest V Bournemouth

The EFL Championship continues with a fresh set of fixtures as Nottingham Forest host Bournemouth at the City Ground Stadium on Saturday.

Both sides head into the game off the back of impressive EFL Cup victories and will look to build on their respective performances.

Nottingham Forest started their Championship campaign on the back foot as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Coventry City last Sunday.

However, the Tricky Trees quickly moved on from that result last time out as they secured a 2-1 victory over Bradford City in round one of the EFL Cup.

Portuguese midfielder João Carvalho scored a quick-fire double just before the halftime break to give Nottingham Forest a two-goal lead before Callum Cooke pulled one back for Bradford City in the 54th minute.

Head coach Chris Hughton will hope the victory will serve as a springboard for a good run of form following a dry spell that saw them go seven games without a win across all competitions.

Meanwhile, following an unconvincing pre-season, Bournemouth got their season off to a flyer in the EFL Cup as they claimed an emphatic 5-0 victory over Milton Keynes Dons.

However, the Cherries were denied an opening-day EFL Championship victory last time out as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Bromwich Albion.

Nottingham Forest have a slight upper hand in the history of this fixture, claiming six wins from their previous 16 encounters. Bournemouth have picked up five wins, while five games have ended in draws.

While Nottingham Forest will aim to build on Wednesday’s Cup victory, they have failed to win their opening home game in the Championship over the last three seasons.

After slumping to a draw against West Bromwich Albion, we expect Bournemouth to come out roaring for their first win of the season. However, Nottingham Forest will do everything possible to avoid another defeat. Our prediction for this match is a draw.

Also, the last time a team from the week of play met Bournemouth on number 16 the following week, they drew. If we go by that number 16 will give us a draw this week. Refer to week 20 and week 21 2020/2021 season.

Week 05 2021 pools forecast

You are welcome to the week 05 pools forecast.

The Community Shield serves as the curtain-raiser for a new season as FA Cup winners Leicester City meet Premier League champions Manchester City at Wembley.

72 clubs are back in action as the new EFL season kicks off this weekend.

We’ve previewed Six(6) games and offered our verdict to give you a little extra help in winning this week. Here are the top six previews:

19 – Gillingham v Lincoln

Both Gillingham and Lincoln won by a score of 3-0 in their respective away games when they met in League One last season.

Gillingham won one, lost one and drew two of their four pre-season friendlies. They were beaten 2-0 away at League Two side Leyton Orient in the latest.

Lincoln had the best away form in League One last season picking up 45-points from 13 wins, 6 draws, and 4 defeats. They scored 34 goals on their travels and conceded 20.

Did you know that since week 49 2021, the first team at home that the first letter corresponds with the Saturday date of play has not failed?

For example, in week 05 2021, the Saturday date is the 7th of August, 7 converted to Alphabet is G, the first letter G at home, is Gillingham.

6- Derby V Huddersfield

Three months after their miraculous escape from relegation, Derby County kick off the new Championship season with a home fixture against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Derby may have ultimately survived the drop into League One by the skin of their teeth, but they start the 2021-22 season labouring under a transfer embargo, which has hampered rookie manager Wayne Rooney‘s hopes of rebuilding a squad short of numbers and confidence.

A quartet of friendly encounters, with Manchester United, Salford City, Real Betis and Notts County, resulted in two wins and two losses for Derby’s mix-and-match side over the past few weeks, but now the serious competition begins – with the Rams hoping to repeat February’s home win against their rivals on Saturday

Huddersfield finished only one place above this weekend’s hosts back in May, so were pleased to get the 2021-22 campaign off to a positive start last weekend, when they overcame Sheffield Wednesday in a penalty shootout to make the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Town conceded the most goals in the division last season, so it should come as little surprise that they have brought in several new defensive bodies during the summer break. With Nicholls now a strong contender to usurp first-choice Ryan Schofield, he could be lining up behind a radically overhauled rearguard on Saturday, as his team seek to start with a rare clean sheet at Derby.

Derby will not have been able to knit together in time, so it will be difficult for them to win this match.

Huddersfield may have fortified their defense but they could not score against Wednesday last week. We expect a similar result this weekend.

Also, In week 03, the first alphabet of the Saturday date plus the week of play drew, the following week, Huddersfield was placed on that number away and drew.

Similarly, In week 04, the first alphabet of the Saturday date plus week of play drew, this week, Huddersfield is placed on that number away to give us a similar result.

28-Harrogate V Rochdale

This is the first meeting between these two clubs in all competitions.

Dale makes their first-ever trip to Harrogate Town on Saturday in Sky Bet League Two.

It is Robbie Stockdale’s first competitive game in charge of the club, having joined as manager less than a month ago.

In that time, he has added no less than seven new faces to his squad, ahead of Saturday’s opening game.

Did you know that since week 37, on brown weeks only, the first letter on number 48 home plus 24 has not failed to draw?

If we go by this, number 28 will give us a draw.

36-Tranmere V Walsall

Did you know that from week 02 to week 03, the first letter on number 5 home minus 49 has failed to draw the following week?

If we go by this, number 36 will give us a draw.

1 – Leicester v Man City

Leicester City and Manchester City meet at Wembley Stadium for the Community Shield. When they met in the Premier League last season the Foxes won 5-2 at the Etihad, but were beaten 2-0 on their home turf.

A 3-3 draw visiting QPR last weekend followed defeats to Burton (0-0, penalties) and Wycombe (1-0) in Leicester’s three pre-season warm-up matches.

Manchester City won all three of their pre-season warm-up matches against Preston (2-0), Barnsley (4-0) and Blackpool (4-1).

Did you know that from week 02, the first letter on number 49 home minus the week of play has not failed?

If we go by this number 1 will give us a draw.

3-Bristol C V Blackpool

Did you know that from week 02 2021, the first letter on number 11 away plus 1 has not failed?
